Easy Daytime Look

Doing a daytime, almost-natural look is super easy! Even a novice such as myself pulled it off 😀 The super fun part about these products is that some of them were samples I got either for free or they happened to have a trial size, while others were full-sized hyped-up products I just easily put my faith in because of the brands’ reputations. You can always mix up affordable and luxury items to create looks!

How I applied:

  1. After washing my face and applying my skincare, I applied a mattifying primer with sunscreen to my whole face and neck.
  2. I used a tinted brow gel to shape and color my brows, and keep it in place. I used to hate brow mascaras but this is actually one of the easiest ways to look polished!
  3. My face is pretty red from blemishes, but I don’t necessarily want a perfect finish. So instead of using full-coverage foundation or concealer, I opted for tints. I first applied a skin tint on my main problem areas, then applied a tinted moisturizer on the rest of my face.
  4. To prep my eyes for makeup and keep it in place, I used a regular primer stick (I’ve run out of actual eye makeup primer).
  5. I took the California Love shadow palette and used the following shades:
    • “The Bay” as my base, applied all over the lid just below the crease
    • “Gold Rush” on my outer V and outer 2/3 of my lower lashline
    • “Cruisin'” as my brow highlight
    • “El Capitan” on the middle of my lid
    • “Diego” on my inner corner/tearduct area
  6. I applied a cream blush onto my cheeks and the bridge of my nose, and blended them with my fingers.
  7. I only use magnetic lashes, because I can’t be assed to use lash glue. I used a black magnetic liner to line my upper lids, and then applied magnetic lashes. I kept them in place with magnetic anchors on the inner and outer corners of my eyes. Anchors are optional but give me extra peace of mind that my lashes won’t go flying in the middle of my day.
  8. I layer a clear lip balm under a lip tint to finish off my look.
