About Me
I’m Imee (she/they) and I’ve been in the tech industry since 2008. I took up Journalism in college, but ended up in tech because, well, I love computers. So much so that I decided to also take a certificate course for Professional Technical Writing many years after I had already earned my Bachelor’s. I may have destroyed every computer and gadget in my home since I was a child, so it’s probably fitting that I ended up in a job that helps people not do that.
If you must know, I am currently based in Manila, Philippines but spend about a quarter to a third of my time in Midland, Michigan in the USA. I love to travel, and see to it that I do this at least once a year, whether locally or internationally.
Why am I blogging?
I’ve been blogging since 2002, on and off. For the most part, I’ve had a personal blog, but things change. For the past few years, I’ve been mostly doing niche blogs and occasionally ghost-writing for clients, but I feel there should be a space of my own online again where I can write about stuff I want to.
Also you might not know me from my old blogs, Rocker-Girl.net and ImeeRocks.net (HA HA HA, I KNOW).
I used to write every day, but now I’m lucky if I can write one post a month. Sometimes I get to do stuff every other week, and sometimes this becomes stale for months. I’ve given myself less pressure to write for an audience, but hopefully the stuff I do write does resonate with people.
How to reach me
I used to have a contact form but even with captcha, somehow spambots still got in and I’m just sick of it 🙂 You may send me an email or find my other socials on my mobile landing page.
Samples of my published work
As stated previously, I have a degree in journalism which has allowed me to become a published writer. Aside from my published work in print and wire services, I’ve also written a good amount of web content, albeit some of it did not have my byline (ghostwriting sucks sometimes, y’all).
Here are some of my sample works that are still up on their respective websites (most recent at the top):

Behind the website name
Being in Generation Y has its many perks. However, let’s face it: the millennial generation isn’t getting any younger. I’ve embraced that fact, and have named my personal blog after it! I first saw the term on an essay published in Hello Giggles[1], and it refers to people born on the earlier end of the millennial generation (I was born on January 1987). I just thought it was a very fitting name that hilariously describes me (and countless others). I checked out if any other blogs have been using the term, and then I bought it after much self-deliberation.
I’m trying to make this site as organized and easy to navigate as I can, and will most probably fill this with makeup/skincare reviews, hair/wig advice, music/movies/TV musings, travel adventures and tips, life as an “adult” (let’s be real, none of us know how to be one), and anything else I could think of that is potentially helpful and isn’t too personal.
