Nivea Makes You Love Your Skin Extra

Personally, the summer months make me feel like absolute hell. I love to stay fresh and clean, and more often than not I feel using products like lotion and anti-perspirant only makes things worse. I live in the Philippines, in a city that’s super hot and humid. Most lotions and anti-perspirants are a big no for me, but I’ve recently discovered two new products from Nivea that I actually love.

Nivea Extra Whitening Anti-Perspirant

Nivea Extra Whitening Anti-Perspirant is a roll-on deodorant that claims to help repair underarm skin damage in addition to giving 48-hour protection from sweat and odor. Its active ingredients include licorice and vitamin c, which help make skin feel smoother and look brighter.

After several days of using the product, I noticed my underarms did get smoother and brighter. I’m already fair-to-medium skinned, so dark underarms were never really an issue, but the product helped make my underarms look nicer. I also have bumps, often referred to as “chicken skin” because I pluck my hairs and sometimes shave. Now that I’m using the product, the skin texture has definitely improved. The product has a very pleasant and feminine, flowery scent that I love. It’s not overpowering at all, but you can tell by smell that it’s there.

I’m not a huge fan of roll-on antiperspirants/deodorants, so it’s not gonna be my first choice. However, if there’s an underarm lotion option for it with the same results and efficacy, I’ll be first in line! I love that it does not contain ethyl alcohol, as I have sensitive skin and can easily get irritated.

Nivea Body Extra White Firming Lotion

Nivea Body Extra White Firming Lotion is a body moisturizer filled with broad UV protection and skin superfoods that work together for healthy skin. The advanced UVA and UVB filters are an important factor in protecting skin from daily sun damage, while camu-camu and Acerola cherry (a.k.a. Barbados cherry) together help brighten skin and give 50 times more vitamin c compared to lemon extract.

I’m a person who’s super picky about lotions, mainly because most products I’ve tried are thick and sticky, which don’t work well in our hot and humid climate. I was pleasantly surprised by this product, as it has a slightly watery consistency compared to most lotions in the market. The scent is amazing too, very mild and feminine. I love that it’s got vitamin C as well as UV protection, which is a huge deal for me. Whitening is not a huge issue for me, so I didn’t really notice if there was a difference after a few weeks of use. I did, however, notice improvement in my skin texture! Especially around spots that are extra rough like knees and elbows, they now feel much smoother and firmer.
