It’s Gonna Be May

I’m excited and nervous at the same time. There’s so many things to look forward to this coming month and going forward. While I cancelled a few solo gigs because I fell ill, I’m still positive about the coming weeks.

I’ve decided to record some songs and enlisted the help of a few good friends. I initially wanted to do a Pledge campaign, but I figured, I could still fund my record with my savings (oh sh** I’m f***ed, excuse my French). After the NDM conference, I realised going indie isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I mean I always knew that, but I never got the magnitude of things until I finally went face to face with costs, time, begging friends to help pro bono, booking gigs, etc.

Hey, does anybody know if I can book gigs abroad? Like, can a tourist play a gig while they’re visiting a country, or is that illegal? Just a thought.

Anywho, I’m trying to re-learn some of my old songs. WTH is wrong with me, I can’t even remember my own lyrics and chords hahaha. I’m also trying to learn some of my bandmates’ compositions. Yesterday I was trying to work on some old songs and found a few I could possibly re-imagine. I’m just hoping my band will like ‘em too 😀
