About two years ago, I wanted to do original songs with my then-band, The Saboteurs. Unfortunately, we all had to go our separate ways due to other commitments. While the split was amicable, I was left without people to jam with and a bunch of songs that needed reworking.

Months passed, and I suddenly found myself fueled more than ever to gig like crazy. Going the indie route, I initially wanted to go solo, but then I realised I needed other people to jam with me. Solo stuff is fine, but the band life is certainly a lot of fun. Next thing I knew, some friends I had from my previous job are now on the same page as I am.

I borrowed a song from an old bandmate, another song from another friend, and then demoed a couple of my solo stuff. We currently have 4 finished songs and a few more in the works. With the support of Kley Productions, I was able to land a gig for us at Conspiracy last week, and a slot in the #IndependentsDay indie music festival this coming June 12.

It gives me a giddy feeling when people ask us about our (currently nonexistent) CD. It’s an entirely different feeling when you’re performing relatively unknown songs that you created with your friends. I’m definitely excited for things to come!

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, my new band 8 Moons of Jupiter. 🙂

Oh, and I did a solo gig doing some of our songs as well, thanks to Songwriters PH:

Here’s a song I wrote with former The Saboteurs bandmates Alan Chiu and Mond Merle, then reworked with David and Paulo, called Dissonance:

Aaand, here’s a song called Undying. Technically, it’s a cover, since a friend of mine named Chris Ismael wrote this for his band Forgetting Luna (which Alan and Mond, along with Nico Africa and Jon Padilla were a part of). They approve, by the way 😉

We have other songs in Filipino as well. Come check out and subscribe to our Youtube channel for them 🙂
